Sumario etc. Cyber insurance was created to address risk that cannot be reasonably mitigated by security measures.<br/>While it initially started in a limited form, it developed to cover more and more types of cyber risk. In comparison with other insurance sectors, cyber insurance appears to have a lower adoption rate, while the growth projections remain high. Projections estimate the global cyber insurance market to reach $ 7.5<br/>billion in annual sales by 2020 – tripling the 2015 figure2 – and over $ 20 billion by 20253. It is evident that regions with established cybersecurity-related legislation, have a higher cyber insurance adoption than<br/>regions that have recent or no formed legislation. The expected growth for the European market is<br/>anticipated to be further accelerated by the adoption of the GDPR and NIS directive.
