In 2002-2003, the European Parliament (EP) adopted five resolutions concerning Taiwan. Respectively on March 14, 2002 and May 15, 2003, it adopted two resolutions that called on the World Health Assembly to grant observer status to Taiwan. On April 11, 2002, the EP adopted the “EU Strategy towards China” (hereafter the “China Resolution”), of which one chapter focuses on the Taiwan issue.
