Commissioned by the European Parliament’s Policy Department for Citizens’
Rights and Constitutional Affairs at the request of the Committee on Women’s
Rights and Gender Equality, this study provides an overview of the
implementation of Directive 2013/33/EU laying down standards for the reception
of applicants for international protection. It outlines the legal framework and
examines how gender related aspects and the reception needs of vulnerable
groups are considered in practice in Munich (Germany) and Brussels (Belgium).
