The analysis covers the period January 2015 to January 2016, which has been marked by food crises in several countries because of extreme weather events due the El Niño phenomenon, conflict and political crises. In a number of countries, in particular in West Africa, food insecurity remains a major concern because of chronic vulnerability despite good crop production in 2015.
