By: Material type: ArticleDescription: Recurso onlineSubject(s): Online resources: In: CTC Sentinel CTC Sentinel . -- Vol. 10 Issue 8 (Sept. 2017) p. 13-20Summary: Data collected from news reports about al-Qa`ida suspects arrested in the Pakistani mega-city of Karachi since 9/11 suggest that the group’s presence in the city has been growing in recent years. The data also points to how the character and make-up of al-Qa`ida in the region is also shifting. Both trends speak to the persistence and diverse nature of the al-Qa`ida threat and how the challenges posed by the group in the region extend well beyond Afghanistan and span across more remote locales, as well as major urban areas in Pakistan—even 16 years after 9/11.
