Still, this year, 685 people were killed in terrorist incidents, compared to 976 in 2014. India also experienced a decrease in small-scale terrorist attacks in its seven states in its northeast and a decline in incursion attempts in Jammu and Kashmir. In 2015, there were only 3 major attacks, compared to 7 in 2014. As many as 62 were arrested for their involvement in plotting terrorist acts, subversion and for their involvement in activities linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS).
