Dynamics of the Middle East Peace : Process in the Era of US Hegemony 1950-2000 [Recurso electrónico] PDF

By: Material type: TextPublication details: Central European Journal of International and Security Studies 2016Description: Recurso onlineSubject(s): Online resources: Summary: This article begins with the observation that the US has over the course of the 20th century, exerted an unrivalled influence on international affairs. In exerting this influence, which is manifested within various dimensions (military, economic and technological), successive American administrations were able to pursue and consolidate their own interests at the international level of governance. In this respect, it is telling that both advocates and critics of American power agree upon the extent and ultimate goal of American power. In this work, I will further elaborate on this theme of American hegemony, with specific reference to the Arab-Israeli conflict. I argue that American power permeates nearly every aspect of the established peace processes.
