| 520 | _aIn 2015, India’s security forces thwarted terrorist attacks along the international borders and prevented attempts by terrorists from infiltrating into the country. Still, this year, 685 people were killed in terrorist incidents, compared to 976 in 2014. India also experienced a decrease in small-scale terrorist attacks in its seven states in its northeast and a decline in incursion attempts in Jammu and Kashmir. In 2015, there were only 3 major attacks, compared to 7 in 2014. As many as 62 were arrested for their involvement in plotting terrorist acts, subversion and for their involvement in activities linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS). | ||
